Monarch Program
The Monarch Program is part of a Schoolwide Enrichment Model developed by Joseph Renzulli and Sally Reis.
Students are nominated by their classroom teachers using checklists of observable behavior in creativity, motivation, leadership and standardized test results. After screening, students are assessed with SAGES (Screening Assessment for Gifted Elementary Students).
The Monarch Program focuses on grade level and student needs in grades 3 through 5.
Grade 3: Reasoning Skills
Grade 4: Critical Thinking Skills
Grade 5: Study skills, debating/public speaking, future problem solving
Individual interest projects are ongoing throughout the year.
